ABCeeds wants you to be successful.

Annual seed can generally be planted in any garden in any area of the world. The maturity of the plant will depend on the length of the growing season; each of our seed varieties lists its "Days to Maturity" to help you plan your garden.
Successful perennial gardening requires an understanding of the hardiness zone in your specific microclimate. An easy way to find your zone is by knowing what your minimum temperature is during the wintertime.

Find Your Zone: United States

The information above was provided by The Arbor Day Foundation. The Arbor Day Foundation has recently (2006) completed an extensive updating of U.S. Hardiness Zones based upon data from 5,000 National Climatic Data Center cooperative stations across the continental United States.

Be sure that frost is no longer a threat before planting transplants outside.

The Department of Agriculture has divided the US into zones for plant hardiness. Knowing which zone you are in is important for growing success.
Your Zone Estimated Last Frost Free Date Lowest Temperature (F)
3 mid June -40 to -30 degrees
4 early June -30 to -20 degrees
5 late May -20 to -10 degrees
6 mid May -10 to 0 degrees
7 late April 0 to 10 degrees
8 early April 10 to 20 degrees
9 early March 20 to 30 degrees

Use the guides shown above to help you plan when to plant tender perennial and half-hardy annuals.
