Storage Information:
This fresh, high germination seed can last for many years when stored correctly.
We recommend useing and replacing the seed every 5 years.
I know this recommendation is less than other companies, we stay on the conservative side of seed life so that your seed is
in great shape when you need it.
Seeds are alive so always store seed with three items in mind.
Cool, Dry, Dark.
Cool area (below 70o F), cool and consistent is best.
Temperature fluctuations "age" the seed. ( Make it lose its viability.) Keep seed in an area that can be regulated. The storage shed out back, that freezes in the winter and burns up in the summer, just will not work.
Cool basements, freezer or refrigerator work great.
For every 6 deg. drop in temp., seed life can double.
Dry, Low Humidity, below 30% if possible.
Dark, light is harmful to storing seeds. Foil packages and Pail help with this. |
