Black Turtle Bean

This is the traditional black bean used for Turtle Bean Soup.  Known in South America prior to 1806 and grown in the southern US since at least 1840.  Semi-runner type bean best trellised.  Excellent also as a snap or string bean when young.
100 days to maturity, Open Pollinated, Untreated seeds.
Dark Red Kidney Bean

 
The best good old fashioned baking bean and excellent chili bean.  Produces large, flat pods filled with huge kidney shaped, dark red beans rich in flavor.  Bush type plant.

Great Northern Bean

 This is my favorite cornbread and beans bean!  A very old variety grown by the Mandan Indians of the Dakotas, commercially available since 1907.  Hardier, earlier, larger, more productive, and quicker cooking than the common navy bean.  3-4" pods are filled with flavorful, large white beans.  Very nutritious.  Bush type plant does very well in the Midwest and the North.

Pinto Bean

 The other soup bean.  Light buff, speckled beans are borne in huge amounts on vigorous, half runner type plants.  Productive, easy bean.

Navy Bean

 Sturdy, robust plants produce mammoth yields of small, pure white beans. This is a great soup bean, absorbs flavors well in cooking. 16-18" tall bush plant.

Dixie White Lima Dry Bean

Meaty, pure white beans, delicious with butterbean flavor.  Strong and vigorous plants loaded with medium pods of round, white, butterpeas.  Bush Type, 70 days, Open Pollinated.
Light Red Kidney Bean

 Very hardy and high yielding bush bean.  Produces large light red kidney shaped beans.  Excellent in chili.  100 DAYS

Pink Bean

This dry bean is very good canner.  It has a pink coat and is a very prolific producer.  Has superior lodging resistance, grows to about 22" tall.  Pink beans will turn reddish brown when cooked.  They have a sweet flavor and a meaty texture.  93 DAYS

Small Red Dry Bean

Small Red dry bean is a high yielding variety with an upright, short vine (22") growth habit.  94 DAYS

Burpee Improved Bush Lima Bean

A great performer.  This bush lima out produces many others.  Enormous pods, 5-6" long and 1.25" wide, eash contain 4-5 large, flat, oval beans.  Great flavored and easy to shell.  Plants get 30" tall and 24" across.   75 DAYS

King of the Garden Pole Lima Bean

This is one stong bean.  It grows a clings well to poles and produces very well.  4-6" pods filled with 4-6 big cream colored seeds.  Just keeps on producing until frost.  88 DAYS
